Each summer S.T.E.P. partners with Montgomery Housing Authority to provide a summer enrichment program for children and youth who may not be participating in a summer program. The enrichment program is a site-based program held at the community center of a MHA public housing community.
Since the year 2000, S.T.E.P. has implemented a site-based violence prevention program within several Montgomery public schools. Prevention specialists resolve conflicts that could lead to fights or other various forms of school and neighborhood violence. The program has started impactful initiatives such as peer mediation, conflict resolution, and peace forums designed to connect students and law enforcement officials in meaningful dialogue to prevent future acts of school and community violence.
